About Me/Fine Print

Doug BoyntonI’m a retired marketer for a major international media organization.   I’ve also been a journalist, disc jockey, talk show host, and gas station attendant.  The website dates back to 2004.  I’ve been an appreciative listener to female vocalists for much longer than that.

I think of this as a place to share music and information about artists that I like, and new artists I’ve discovered.  Generally speaking, if I don’t like the album or artist, I simply ignore it.  I discovered that I got no thrill from writing negative reviews.

If you’d like to use any of the posts in some other form, feel free to use reviews in their entirety (with acknowledgment).  However, if you want to use a snippet only, please drop me a line, and we’ll talk about it.

I buy a lot of the music I review, but I also receive review copies from publicists.  I also listen to a lot of music online.  Napster and Amazon Music are my favorite sources to which I subscribe.

Regarding privacy

The website will drop a cookie on you.  Information is stored for a month or two and includes your IP address (and associated general location information – country/city).  It also includes your browser and operating system.  It’s all to satisfy my curiosity only – I enjoy seeing how far the website travels – and I never share the information with anyone, anytime.

One more disclaimer

Finally, “Girl” is not a term I normally use for any young woman over the age of 18 or so.  “Girl Singer” is a term I use with admiration and affection.

Thanks for checking!
